How I Organize My Erin Condren Life Planner

Before the start of the new year, I revealed my new Erin Condren Life Planner and how excited I was to use it. I thought I'd do a little follow-up/update to let you know how it's going.

Um. Fabulous!

This gem is not only really fun to decorate with washi tape and stickers (which, thankfully, I'm done buying at the moment), but it's also fully functional. I have a system. YAY.

(Do you have one yet?! If not, there is a referral link for $10 off your first planner purchase at the bottom of this page.)

Granted, everyone needs to find their own system, but I wanted do give you an idea of how I split up my weekly view, which is by far, what I use the most.

The left column:

Erin has designed this "goals & notes" column here on the far left. I split mine up into parts: WRITE, READ, EXERCISE, PRAYER, and OTHER for miscellaneous goals for the week.

Under WRITE, I write the total of what I'm writing or editing. Under READ, the book I'm reading, in this case a RITA book for judging. EXERCISE is to track my activity, and PRAYER is my morning reading or a psalm I write down for the week.

Having these on the side reminds me of my focus for the week.

Using my washi tape, I covered up the morning/afternoon/night tabs and just use the sections of my own making. The top row is for my writing--the most important part of what I do! Word count, goals, etc. go here.

The middle section is a personal column. Hair or nails appointment, dinner with the hubs, a party? Anything I do "off the clock" goes here.

The bottom section is where I track my blogging, giveaways, social media, and other contacts with publicists, agents, or editors. All the side business "business" of writing, and believe you me, there is a lot of it!

That just leaves the bottom section where I go back and forth between quotes, to-dos, or meal plans, depending on what I need more space for during the week.

During the week, I fill in the gaps left open and scrapbook to my hearts content. I add washi, stickers, doodles, anything that makes it fun for me. Chaotic mess or art? You decide. ;)

I can't recommend this product enough! I'm already looking forward to getting a new one for next year (as nerdy as that is!) and I'll keep showing you the page designs as I come up with them. I really have fun with this.
