The Lemmon 15: April 2018
Happy April, Fifteeners!
Last month's issue worked so well moving it to the blog that we're doing it again. Happy spring, everyone! Though... is it spring where you are? We came home from a glorious vacation to SNOW, and I know Midwesterners were not the only folks shivering in their boots and breaking out the winter coats. However, yesterday it was a glorious 75-degrees here in Ohio, and even though today is cool and rainy, and Monday the temperatures dip, I'm holding onto hope that soon we can put the boat in the water and go out on the lake. 😁
In this month's issue:
- Vacation at Serenbe.
- Barrett Fox might not be for you...
- Specialty pricing coming soon!
- My latest mani - pretty nails alert!
- On the blog...
- The monthly giveaway!
"Here, you can just 'be' in a place that's very serene."
If you follow me on Instagram, you probably saw a few photos of our vacation. We traveled to a wellness community an hour outside of Atlanta, Georgia that my husband's good friend told him about. John loves to garden, and we're both into health and wellness and generally living well. We guard our peace, and this place was built around the idea of no visual or audible noise. There are so many things about Serenbe to love, and honestly, the photos don't do it justice! There was an animal village, walking trails, artistic lampposts, a playhouse, and delicious restaaurants. It was absolute utopia.
My favorite part was the animals! The donkeys that demanded scratches, the llamas, goats, sheep, and even pigs that wagged their tails whenever you talked to them.
These photos are from two separate trips to Serenbe. We drove to Georgia, then traveled down to Naples, Florida for a few days, and then decided on the way home that we'd just visit Serenbe again. It's wedding season there so the rooms were almost all booked, but we found a place to stay!
Here are a few shots from Florida. It was sunny and beautiful, just like you'd expect.
Barrett Fox Might Not Be For You...
The early reviews are pouring in for Rumor Has It and you guys, I've written one polarizing hero! Now don't get me wrong, the vast majority of you absolutely love the book, but there are three or four people who are complaining loud and clear about Barrett's bad boy-ness. Check this out:
So does this mean that Barrett is the ultimate bad boy?! Although, there were plenty of people who thought he was just the right amount of bad & sweet... you know, a typical Lemmon hero.
"Steamy, romantic, and funny. I love a good Enemies-to-Lovers story, and this one has it all!" ~New York Times bestselling author Gina Maxwell
“No one writes big-hearted bad boys like Jessica Lemmon! Rumor Has It is laugh-out-loud fun.” ~New York Times bestselling author Lori Foster
Even Publisher's Weekly called it "Purely delicious fun" and I'm not going to argue with that at all!
Decide for yourself when Barrett comes into your life on May 15! Read the excerpt and preorder with the button below. Pro tip: Never ever let anyone make up your mind for you about a book--good or bad! I know how I feel about him since I wrote him. I adore him, and so does his love interest Catarina Everhart. So as for us, we'll stand with Barrett. 💋

On the Blog
It was a light month on the blog, guys! I've been working diligently on writing a brand new series (The Bachelor Pact, coming to Harlequin paperback & e in 2019), and wrapping up an old one (Real Love's final installment is October--America's Sweetheart is an e-book exclusive) AND I've been taking B-school, an 8-week long business class, plus I started Color Street and that has evolved into a business of its own! So, I admit, the blog has suffered a *little* bit, but it also gave me time to think about where I wanted to go with it. Here are the posts from last month in case you missed them:
RECIPE: Donovan's Shrimp Scampi a la Sofie: If you read the Second Chance series, you may remember this recipe from Rescuing the Bad Boy. It was featured in the back of the book.
FOR WRITERS: How to Plan Your Novel on Pinterest: a fun look at the way I utilize Pinterest to plan out my current WIP (work in progress).
I also asked the Lemmondrops SuperFans what they thought I should write more about and here's what they had to say:
At last peek, "Behind the scenes peeks at your books" edged ahead of the lifestyle suggestions one, but they're still very close! So look for more lifestyle tips on how to incorporate reading and romance into your life, as well as behind the scenes moments. And by the way, I often share book snippets in their rawest forms over at the Lemmondrops. This past week, I shared a section from Bachelor #1, the untitled first book of The Bachelor Pact series right after I wrote it!
