Read for Fun

In 2020, I became a reader again.

Not a writer reading a book to quote it. Not a writer who’s inner editor was mentally correcting or rearranging words. I became a reader and I was reading for the sheer, pure joy of it.

I enjoyed it so much, you know what I did? I kept reading. I read one of my own books for fun. Then I read another romance novel I’d had on my shelf for months. Then I bought another one. And then I bought one more.

My mornings and evenings found me in a book, coffee or hot tea in hand, reading and loving and just plain enjoying.

“Read for fun” has long been my motto, but I longed to share that passion with others. That’s why I became a writer! So I extended an invitation to readers everywhere who also loved to be lost in a book, but had somehow forgotten about it.

In June 2020, my birthday month, I launched our first ever Read for Fun Initiative. I began receiving emails from readers who fell back in love with reading like I did. As a result, we launched an RfF initiative to remind you and me to take some time out of our busy lives and get lost in a book.

Take time out of your busy life and become lost in a book.

Let’s support this beautiful pastime that means so much more than marketing would have us believe. Let’s support our big, bountiful hearts and allow them to hold so much happy they’re damn near overflowing with it.

Let’s READ.

While the challenge is no longer “official” that doesn’t mean you can’t initiate your own right now! I created a printable booklet for the occasion and it won’t cost you a thing.

Your challenge, should you accept it, is to read for 30 days for a minimum of 15 minutes a day. Track it on the tracker you can find on your Insider’s Circle page, and join us over at the Lemmondrops to talk all about reading and how much you love it. I promise you’ll find friendly faces there to share their thoughts and recs as well.

Who’s with me?
