I have an idea for a book.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that phrase, I’d have a mountain of nickels.

The next step is to take the spark of an idea and write it down.

The step after that? String those ideas together into a book. A finished book.

But many people don’t finish their books.
And some don’t even start.

So… What happened?

Your brain whispers: Because you’re lazy. Because you never finish what you start. Because you’re not a good writer.

But here’s what I know (because I’ve been exactly where you are):

I’ve doubted myself.
I’ve questioned if my words were worth anything.
I’ve wondered aloud, “Am I wasting my time writing words that no one will ever read?”

I want to hug that version of me. She was so, so wrong about herself.

The truth is…

  • You’re not lazy. You’re overwhelmed.

  • You haven’t finished because you don’t know the next step.

  • Writing is a process. Your writing will improve as long as you keep writing.

So how do you keep going when you don’t know what to do next?

That’s where Let it Be Easy: Write for Fun comes in.

  • Imagine sitting down to write and feeling invigorated instead of overwhelmed.

  • Imagine ideas flowing so freely they wake you up in the middle of the night.

  • Imagine knowing in your bones that your book is special—and it will change lives.

That certainty changes everything.

There is a copper cup with pens and markers on the desk. She is smiling and touching her neck with one hand.

Hi, I’m Jessica Lemmon.

Fifteen years ago, I made a commitment: to learn everything I could about writing a romance novel from start to finish.

It took me two and a half years and five full manuscripts before I landed my first publishing deal. My agent received multiple offers on my two-book series, and within two weeks I had signed a contract with a New York publishing house.

Since then, I’ve written 47 books, worked with multiple traditional publishers (including co-writing for James Patterson), and launched my own publishing imprint.

Here’s what I’ve learned along the way:

  1. We don’t finish what we start because we lack confidence.

  2. We lack confidence because we’ve never done it before.

  3. …And confidence only comes from doing the work.

The more you write, the stronger your craft becomes. And do you know what makes it so much easier to keep writing? Knowing exactly what to do next.

That’s what Let it Be Easy: Write for Fun is here to show you.
