Harnessing the Power of Identity to Transform Your Day

Have you ever woken up feeling anxious or uneasy, unsure of how to shift your mindset?

In a recent YouTube video, I threw open the doors to the Lemmon Society and shared a behind-the-scenes look at my personal journaling process. In it, I talk about how setting an identity attraction point helps me attract the thoughts and feelings I want to experience. This post breaks down that approach and gives you practical steps to elevate your own daily mindset.

1. Understanding My Identity Attraction Point

I begin by acknowledging how I feel and recognizing that those emotions stem from the identity I’ve been embodying. Instead of focusing on negative emotions like anxiety or nervousness, I shift my attention toward a more empowering identity. For me, that’s Million Dollar Jessica (MDJ), my guide for the day and my reminder of who I truly want to be.

2. Defining My Ideal Self

In my journal, I describe what MDJ looks like—not just in terms of material wealth but also in her values, presence, and feelings. She’s a millionaire who leads a life filled with peace, confidence, and generosity. By defining that version of myself, I can then align my mindset, habits, and decisions to match her energy.

3. Feeling into My Identity

Once I’ve clarified who I want to embody, I take time to feel into that version of me. I imagine what it’s like to live as MDJ: successful, purposeful, and expansive. Connecting with those emotions creates a powerful anchor that influences how I move throughout my day.

4. Creating a Purposeful To-Do List

After setting my identity attraction point, I make a to-do list that reflects the actions of my ideal self. Rather than seeing tasks as obligations, I approach them with intention, asking, What would MDJ do? This mindset turns even the simplest tasks into moments of growth and alignment.

5. Generosity and Balance

I’ve also learned to check in with how I’m giving. When I feel resistance around generosity, I shift the form it takes. If I’ve been giving financially, I might give my time or energy instead. Finding this balance keeps me connected to abundance and helps me stay open to flow.

6. Grounding Practices for Anxiety

When anxiety shows up, I turn to grounding practices such as yoga, meditation, and breathwork. These rituals help calm my nervous system and bring me back to the identity and intentions I’ve set.

Conclusion: Key Takeaways

Journaling has become one of my favorite ways to realign my energy. (I’m a writer. It makes sense, right?) By defining who I want to be, feeling into that identity, and aligning my actions with her, I create a more fulfilling, grounded, and purpose-driven life. And when I drift off course, I can always revisit my journal and come back home to myself.
