Sacred Journaling (But Make it Whimsical)

Every morning after my first cup of coffee, I reach for one of my two journals. Some days I write about the card I pulled from an oracle or tarot deck. Others I follow a journaling prompt that helps me go deeper into myself. What I always do, though, is use my stickers and Tombow markers, and give myself room to PLAY.

Journaling gives me a safe space to reprogram my subconscious thoughts, to vent (when my human is unhappy), and to ask things like: What am I feeling? Where is this feeling coming from? Is this even mine?

You might be surprised how many of your thoughts aren’t yours. Who decided what pants size was considered “plus” anyway? And who says that we should “fight” against the things we oppose? Look deeper and you will see that societal norms have shifted back and forth (hello, Botticelli bodies were the thing for a while), and that we energetically feed with our attention (yelling NO at what we don’t like only makes it bigger).

But how will we ever know what we think apart what everyone else thinks unless we meet ourselves on the page? And when we decide to do this without judgment or pressure, we can luxuriate in our own truth, and let it grow and shift and change. 🌸

Deep thoughts can be playful, and I would argue that they should be. We take life incredibly seriously as adults, but we were kids, we didn’t do this.

I used to flip my bicycle upside down and pretend to churn ice cream. I pretended that old roof shingles were hamburgers and opened a restaurant. I begged for my mom’s voided checks so that I could pay imaginary bills! (And yes, I have noticed that most of my childhood pastimes were running businesses. LOL)

My point is that my journaling practice is where I unpack these memories, look at them, and see the hidden value there. It’s where I rediscover parts of myself—and let them inform how I show up today.

That same spirit of curiosity, creativity, and joyful exploration—is what inspired me to create The Lemmon Society: a cozy, heart-led community for readers, writers, and dreamers.

Inside, you’ll find:

🍋 A book club for romance lovers (complete with juicy convos and early cover reveals)

🍋 Behind-the-scenes updates from my author life and writing desk

🍋 Bestie-level chats in the Friends tier, where I share my fave things (like journal entries and tarot card pulls!)—we’ll also hang out via Zoom each month

🍋 Pep talks and monthly calls for writers who crave encouragement, direction, and a little magic oomph to keep them feeling creatively filled up

🍋 Space to reflect, reset, and remember who you are—without needing to explain or edit yourself

This is a space where we go deep, laugh loud, and hold each other gently through all the creative seasons. Whether you’re here for the books, the breakthroughs, or just to feel more like you, all are welcome.

The Lemmon Society isn’t just a membership—it’s a Joy Revolution.

A safe, sparkly corner of the internet where we lift each other up and live more fully.

Whenever you're ready, I’ll be here.

And your seat? It’s already saved.
