Now it was just him and Cam in the art studio, and he crossed the room to stand before her. She swung around, her mouth full of a speech she’d evidently been preparing since he’d arrived.
“You were supposed to come in here, be embarrassed and then leave.” She lifted and dropped her arms in exasperation. “Not—not—not take off your clothes and—and—”
He stopped her trail of words by stepping closer and then a hair closer still. When he was practically nose to nose with her, his nostrils filled with the soft, clean scent of her soap, he had to remind himself she wasn’t his to kiss. Not yet.
“Have dinner with me.” He tucked her red hair behind her ear, savoring the softness of it and wanting nothing more than to dive in and taste some of the words that had become tangled in her tongue.
“What?” The word was a surprised whisper.
